In September 2011, I purchased a new 2012 Hyundai Elantra from Star Hyundai in Bayside, NY. I purchased it mainly for the gas mileage of 40 mpg highway and 29 mpg city. I traded in a 2007 Hyundai Elantra with 110,000 miles that got 20 mpg.
To my horror, I am getting 20 mpg average
I have been to the Star Hyundai service department with my problem. Their response was to laugh at me and tell me that I do not know how to drive. I was handed a Hyundai service bulletin explaining how to drive. Obviously I was not the first consumer to complain.
I have also called Hyundai corporate customer service and was also told I do not know how to drive. I had to beg to speak to a supervisor. She was no help. I asked if she could arrange a test drive with the district manager. She said she was not able to do that. I asked her to try and she never got back to me.
NO ONE AT HYUNDAI IS WILLING TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF MY PROBLEM.
I am the type of customer manufacturers live for. I have owned 6 Hyundai's.
2012 Elantra
2007 which I traded in with 110,000 miles
2004 with 120,000 miles which my son drives
2002 with 200,000 miles which I gave away
2000 which I gave away with 120,000 miles
Excel--not sure what year
You would think that with this history I would be treated better.
